It’s finally finished!!

They do say that good things come to those who wait and I’ve waited a while for my special room!  But just in time for the summer it’s painted and finished.  I’ve gone for a very neutral colour scheme where the look of the room can be easily refreshed by changing the cushions, throws, artwork etc.  At the moment it’s quite a beachy look, but that can easily be changed if I get bored with it!  The floor has just been given three coats of Ronseal floor varnish in white ash.  It feels really smooth and the colour allows the natural markings of the wood to show through.  All interior woodwork has just been painted with a watered down coat of white emulsion to keep it looking as natural as possible.  Not sure how this will wear but time will tell! I’m really pleased that the room accommodates everything I need.  I wanted all my tools, paints and brushes close at hand but not on view, so the old chest was ideal to store everything.  Except for this chest and my folding work table, the furniture pieces were all freebies that I’ve upcycled.  I got the wingchair with a view to reupholstering it, but as you can see, I’m happy for the moment to just drape it with a couple of throws ☺️  It’s a great place to relax – maybe I’ll even start to read more now. With some chilled tunes playing, it’s the perfect place to be…
